This survey is to get input from families about moving to Phase 2 of our reopening plan.

July 2020: Parent Survey

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As Governor Northam moves forward with the phased reopening plan for Virginia, Martinsville City Public Schools is working through several options for our families incorporating physical distancing, remote learning, and following the guidance from the Virginia Health Department and the Virginia Department of Education. Our staff and school families are an integral part of this process, and we are asking for your input to inform our decision-making based on what is best for our families and community.

July 2020: Continuity of Learning Survey

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The instructional leadership has documented which standards have not been taught due to the 2020 closure and are in the process of planning to make certain our students receive that instruction as well as the new grade level instruction upon our return to school. We appreciate all of the support you provided in your student’s learning during the 2020 closure. In developing the plans going forward, we want you to be an engaged member of the process. Included below is a link to a short survey so that we may get your input concerning our continuity of learning so that we may better plan for future learning. This is the same survey included with the report cards but in another form of access, for we value your input and thank you in advance for your time and support.

VDOE 2019-2020 Private School Parent and Student Perspective Survey

As part of the new private school progress monitoring requirements, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) was charged with developing a survey to obtain information from parents of students with disabilities served in private schools for students with disabilities, as well as a survey to obtain information from the students’ perspective. These surveys have been shared with each of the private school administrators for dissemination. However, the VDOE is asking for your assistance in promoting the completion of the survey by each of your families who had a student enrolled in private school during the 2019-2020 school year. Unlike the Indicator 8 parent survey, there is not a “hard copy” version of these surveys that can be disseminated. Therefore, the VDOE asks that you, at minimum, post the availability of the online surveys on your school division’s webpage where you post information for parents. The VDOE will also be posting these surveys to its website and posting notification of their availability.

The online surveys are currently opened and will be available for completion at the following links until October 30, 2020:
